❤️ Mamie - Dad's Mother & Our Grandmother ...Circa 1800's ❤️

Updated: May 13

" Mary Ann Magrogan Schauber "

It's a long story. Once upon a time. . .

Mom (Aunt Marie) had an old tin picture of her mother known by most as Mamie. Uncle Johnny used it for his Schauber Magrogan history book. I promise it's in there. It was tin or whatever metal they used in those long ago days and it was hard to see, and very blurry. So my brother Bob made a light box with a little push button that would light up the box and you could see the picture a little better. That little light box lived in our living room on the book shelf for many moons. When Mom got her angel wings and left for higher places my daughter called dibs on the box. Then the light went out so she had to unscrew the box but replaced the bulb with a much better one ( yes bulbs have improved) then took a picture of the picture with her phone. So here's the picture of our grandmother Mamie. Mom said she was painting and the pic was taken before she was married. There's a glass of water on the bench......water painting? There's a steeple in the background. Mom always said that her Mom was very good at mixing colors and that's where Uncle Johnny got the gift. 😍 She has on a hat or it looks more like a fascinator. Yes, Mamie was "very cool".
