On Friday, April 30, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, named Msgr. William Edward Koenig, vicar for clergy for the Diocese of Rockville Centre, N.Y., as the 10th bishop of the Diocese of Wilmington.

“The bishop said to me ‘Oh, you’re a Phillies fan,’” Schauber said.
“I told him I didn’t do it for that reason. I had recently had a medical procedure and was told to limit exposure to the sun. It was nothing serious, but I had to get (the procedure) done. I didn’t have a lot of choices for hats, so I picked that one.
“I didn’t mean it as an affront to anyone,” Schauber said.
While it did produce some good-natured chuckles, Schauber removed it before he entered church as he had fully intended to do. He did put it back on when Mass concluded and the glaring sun remained.
“It was just protection from the sun,” he said.

Looks like a really fun "COUSINS" lunch at Schaefers. Sorry I missed it, I was also welcoming "our new bishop" and 'did see' my cousin Charles there although I'm sure he didn't see me. Very large crowd and what a wonderful day it was!

Your funeral send off service for our brother John was just "Exceptional". You had all of us 'spellbound' with every word and story and family memory and history and symbol; which seemed to just flow off your tongue through divine inspiration. It was so powerful and yet so personal to our brother John, Jr. and his time, life and place in our enormous family that Irene & John, Sr. left for all of us. Thank you again for your amazing grace. You have become a 'prodigious asset' and 'patriarchal figure' to our family; as witnessed yesterday at "our brother John's funeral". St. Paul's R.C. Church, Delaware City, DE. Deacon Charles, YOU! My Brother are generous beyond belief! I called & emailed again & again to 'organize' this Lunch for Susan McE that I only learned about from SUSAN ...just days before it actually happened. She selected the Date... TODAY!! I got my 'wheels in motion" - my resources "YOU" for 1 - of which I have many.... I wanted Many 'NOT' Few to be able to "Share this time" I saw family members ...chatting & laughing & eating & whatnot ... "story telling & more story telling"!!! Peggy needed to talk to "YOU".... Charlie ! Yes! That is why Larry left... I know that! is no ....Accident! .... NO COINCIDENCE! THEN! ....Susan McE had an "episode" just before we left ....that I witnessed & had Rich & Susan assist me!. I asked that RICH please follow me to return Susan back to her home. I think she felt comfortable with Sue/Rich. He assisted with her house keys & Susan took her drink & 2 lb. purse. Hahaha!
