Thank you Handley for taking time to document this special family gathering, for those who attended and especially for those who were not able to attend. We missed you all. And again thanks to Lauri who did an amazing job hosting, to Regina who helped coordinate, to Bern who kept us updated, to Charlie who did a beautiful service for Aunt Kathy, to Tina who sent a beautiful celebration of life video that shared so many wonderful memories of her mom,   and to all who were able to attend and bring yummy food and drink to share. The laughs, the dancing, the reminiscing and storytelling, pool time and  synchronized swim performances by Colleen, dancing and singing and so much more. Blessings to all!

  Wanted to extend a 'Special Thank You' for stepping up & offering to provide Mike a 'ride & watchful eye' at Lauri's Family Gathering & Pool Party.  

It seems like a 'small thing' but it is a 'mighty gesture' Frank.  

  Mike was a bit off & unstable on Saturday; he had more than a few 'mishaps & awkward' moments'.  You were right there for him throughout the day, as witnessed by many.  You allowed others to 'kick back & enjoy the day with so many family visiting from near & far.    ....It did not go unnoticed !  

  Thank You 'little brother' for watching over your 'bigger brother - Mike! 🚶🏃

Yes,  Thank You for all the photos. I wish so much that Rich & I had been able to attend.  It was best that we didn't give the bug we had to many others. Thank God for all the memories !!!!!!!

Thank you should go to so many more than me!  I had so little to straighten up today that I could not believe there were 40+ Schaubers running around here yesterday.   

I will always think of Pembrey as mom’s house and yesterday would have made her proud.  (Although, Dad would prefer to have a few more Randows in the house just for the entertainment!)

Lauri Callaghan Witte was not only the perfect host yesterday at the Schauber Family Reunion and Celebration of Life for Aunt Kathy, but she did a wonderful and beautiful post on Facebook about the amazing gathering we had together. Below is the text Lauri wrote on Facebook. I will  try to share the pictures too. I know Handley will share all the awesome pictures he took and Cindy has shared some already, but please share any pictures that you have with the family on this thread. For those who couldn’t make it, you were deeply missed and we hope this gives you a small taste of the joy we experienced at this year’s reunion.

Today is one of those days I will always remember. We gathered to celebrate my aunt, Kathy Filary Schulthies. A personalized service led by Uncle Charlie brought tears to my eyes as I listened to the remaining siblings share stories of the sister they love. The original 16 Schaubers currently have 6 together in heaven and 10 are here to remind us how lucky we are. And we are blessed! In true Schauber fashion, there is a time to reflect followed by a time to raise a glass, share good food and enjoy our day together. The things I learned about my family: If “family synchronized swimming” was ever an Olympic event - we are NOT ready to complete. However if “individualized synchronized swimming” makes the list, Colleen is ready for gold! Aunt Regina and Teri confirmed - swim leggings are ALWAYS in style! “70s Pop” IS the best station. I am sure my neighbors agree by now. Uncle Frank is still working his dance moves since 1978. Uncle Larry can fix anything - even the wheelchair he “helped” into a bush. Uncle Mark should not count on Larry’s help to get his wheelchair unstuck. If you are a nun and you show up late, with no food to share - not a darn person is going to say a word. Lauri’s pool definitely has an issue. It could be a $0.79 o-ring…or a $79k rebuild after we jack hammer the bottom because we suspect a leaky pipe. Aunt Sue McEwing lights up a room, just by showing up; Aunt Joann makes the best eggplant (actually makes the best everything); Aunt Hank is an our matriarch and inspiration; Aunt Peggy is EVERYONE’s favorite aunt; Uncle Mike is #14 and WPenn class of 1976; Aunt Cindy is still the coolest aunt and Handley will always take the best pictures! And I am blessed to know and love each of you.
